Day 16

In the studio today I helped out with a client quilt, and then continued to help iron on fusible to pieces of clothing (Day 8).Next I worked on transferring text to the pieces of clothing. This is done by printing the mirrored text onto a sheet of paper, and then wetting the paper with a concentrated citric cleanser, and rubbing over the paper until the text is completely transferred. This process resembles printmaking processes, but uses cleanser instead of paint to make the image stick.

Over the weekend, I finished my pieced block, which took about 6 hours in total. It is not perfect, but I feel that I had definitely improved my skills and learned some new tricks by the end of the process.

    1. Unfortunately not, however I will try to get some images of the text, as well as the larger quilt design when I get back to Mary’s studio.
